A.C.M. imposes a binding instruction on K.P.N. regarding number porting tariffs

Fresh off the press: today, March 20, 2019, the A.C.M. announced that it is giving KPN a binding instruction that the costs of porting must be reduced. We are of course happy with this.

What is going on?

Now that ISDN is being phased out in the Netherlands, a lot of entrepreneurs are placing their numbers with other providers.

To port a number or number block, an amount must be paid to KPN as the donor or leaving party of the number.

KPN charges costs for this. 2 euros for a single number and 200 euros for a number block.

Most entrepreneurs have an ISDN line and therefore also a number block. And with that, the entrepreneur who now wants to place the number himself is confronted with these costs of 200 euros.

These costs must now be reduced, the ACM has determined.
