Get a 0900 number & set your own call rates

You can choose between a rate per minute or a rate per call. The maximum rate per minute is 1.10 euros for 0900 numbers. The maximum rate per call is 1.80 euros. (updated January 2023)

We take care of the complete application of your 0900 number at the ACM. We take care of this free of charge. The procedure at the ACM takes 1-2 weeks. If you are in a hurry, an emergency procedure is also possible at the ACM. We are also familiar with this emergency procedure for quickly connecting emergency numbers, such as in the event of calamities.

It is very important that you request your own 0900 number and do not receive a number on loan or from stock from a provider. This often causes problems later on. This method of lending a 0900 number is therefore not permitted by the ACM. You must register a number in your own name. We do this for you free of charge. If you use someone else’s 0900 number, many problems can arise later with the payment or if you want to use the number via a new provider. It is better to take the 2 weeks that the ACM needs to assign you a number in your own name. Haste is never good and you do not have your salary paid into someone else’s bank account, do you? The list of available numbers in the Netherlands can be found on our website and is updated daily. We also advise against using a temporary number.

0900 numbers are location independent and not tied to a specific region. Callers can call from anywhere in the country and a 0900 number therefore has a national appeal. These numbers are also called information numbers or service numbers.

You will receive your income around the 23rd of the month. This is for the period of the previous month. You will see an overview of the call costs and income on the invoice. Make sure that your service meets the applicable conditions.

A 0900 number cannot be called from abroad. It can only be called within the Netherlands. A 0900 number is not an international number but a Dutch so-called service number. It also does not work if you dial +31 (Netherlands country code) before the 0900 number abroad. You will then hear a disconnected tone (network not available).

Let us know that you need to apply urgently (for example for a calamity or emergency) and we will do your application via the urgent registration procedure at ACM. There are additional costs involved that are charged directly by the ACM. You will then have an available number registered in your own name within one working day.

The rate per minute is a maximum of 1.10 euros. This is the case for all telephone networks and this cannot be set higher by a specific provider. There are national agreements about this for these information numbers. So there is no rate of 4 euros per minute possible for legal services, for example. Every year there is consultation about this within the telephone operators, but in 2024 there is still little movement towards higher rates. It is a fixed amount with ditto revenues.

You choose a rate per call if you want to help someone with information for a fixed amount. This is the case with consumer brands, for example. They do not necessarily have to earn money from a call and want to limit the costs for the customer. A rate of, for example, 30 cents per call is then a good choice and customer-friendly. If you want to make income and are going for an extra source of income, then choose a rate per minute for the caller.

The maximum duration of a call via a 0900 number is 50 minutes. This is to prevent someone from forgetting to hang up after a call and the costs continuing. If you expect to have to offer someone 2 hours of computer help, ask that person to call again after 50 minutes. This also gives you an extra professional appearance.

A 0900 number has a number length of 4 or 7 digits after the prefix 0900. In total, the number length of a 0900 number is 11 digits.

0906 numbers and 0909 numbers are intended for erotic purposes (0906) or amusement purposes (0909) such as contests. We do not connect to either. We only do business service numbers since 2000.

You can change the rate that the caller pays. Many starters start with a low rate of, for example, 50 cents per minute and if it is seen that the service is well appreciated and the telephone occupancy is optimal, the rate is increased to, for example, 80 cents per minute.

You can set exactly who receives a call at what time via our app or online telephone exchange. You can set up a virtual call center for your 0900 number. We can also activate a menu so that callers can choose a subject or department. All calls come in on your current phone.
