How Does a Service Number Work?
A service number is essentially a virtual number. This means that callers to these numbers are connected to a so-called “underlying” number; the destination.
Your service number is therefore not tied to a physical location, as your regular landline number is.
The 0800, 0900, 088, and 085 prefixes are also not tied to a specific city or region but are valid throughout the country.
How It Works
Before your 0800, 0900, 088, or 085 number is connected with us, you indicate which destination, i.e., which regular phone number, calls should be delivered to. You also specify which extra features, such as a queue, menu, or welcome message, you want to use. This can be very simple, but fully custom solutions specifically built for your situation are also possible.
When a caller dials your service number, the call first arrives on our intelligent platform, the so-called Interactive Voice Response (IVR) platform.
Depending on the settings, our IVR determines what should happen to the incoming call and delivers the call to the destination number you specified.
Works with Your Existing Phone
It is important to know that with a service number, you do not need to make any technical adjustments to your current infrastructure. You have full control over the settings of your service number via the online My Belfabriek dashboard and our iOS and Android applications for your mobile phone and tablet.
