Are you interested in a phone number abroad? At Belfabriek, you can choose from dozens of countries. In many of these countries, you can then choose from several types of phone numbers: for example, numbers that are free for callers or national service numbers where callers pay no more than the normal call rate. We also offer local phone numbers, for example, in cities like New York, Paris, or Moscow.

But what about the application procedure? What happens once you order a number with us in Italy or Australia? Is it necessary to have a physical location there, is a postal address sufficient, or is it not necessary to have an address in the country you are targeting? In this support article, we explain the requirements and the procedure.

1. Place Your Order

No matter which country you want a number in, the application always starts the same way: by filling out the application form. With your personal and company details and (if applicable) your bank details, we can start the application.

Depending on the country, telecom authorities may require a (virtual) address and/or a local Chamber of Commerce registration. We will inform you of the exact additional details needed after you have chosen your numbers and completed the application form.

2. Authorities Review Your Application

In the Netherlands, your number application is reviewed by the ACM, but in other countries, there are different authorities that assess applications. Some act very quickly, while others may take a bit more time.

However, we see that for many of our customers, we can have a number available in a large number of countries within a week. Belfabriek monitors the efficiency of the relevant authorities, so you have one less thing to worry about.

3. Start Using Your Number

Once a number has been assigned to you, we ensure that you can start using it as soon as possible. You will gain access to My Belfabriek, the online dashboard where you can fully customize the number. You will also find the call statistics for incoming calls there once your number becomes dialable.

Only after your new number(s) are activated will you receive the invoice. If you have opted for direct debit, your payment will take place during the next monthly billing cycle.
